France is set to face Argentina in the 2022 World Cup final, and the French players are determined not to let Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, have any enjoyment on the pitch.
Messi, widely considered one of the greatest players of all time, has been in top form throughout the tournament, scoring crucial goals and leading Argentina to the final. However, the French team is confident in their abilities and are not intimidated by the Argentine star.
“Messi doesn’t scare us,” said French defender Raphael Varane. “We respect him and his abilities, but we are not going to let him enjoy the game. We have a plan to stop him and we will execute it on the pitch.”
Midfielder Paul Pogba echoed Varane’s sentiments, saying, “We know Messi is a fantastic player, but we are not afraid of him. We have a strong team and we believe in ourselves. We will give our all to win the World Cup.”
The French team has been impressive in the tournament, reaching the final without conceding a single goal. They will look to continue their defensive solidity against Argentina and shut down Messi in order to secure the win.
The much-anticipated final will take place on Sunday, July 15 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. It promises to be a thrilling matchup between two of the world’s best teams, with both France and Argentina eager to lift the trophy.
