Australian cricketer Ellyse Perry is determined to keep improving in the shortest format of the game. Perry, who is widely considered one of the best all-rounders in the world, has been a key member of the Australian team in all three formats of the game.
“I still feel like I have a lot to learn and a lot of room to grow in the shortest format,” Perry said in a recent interview. “I’m always looking for ways to evolve my game and become a better player.”
Perry has been particularly successful in the longest format of the game, scoring over 2,000 runs and taking over 100 wickets in just 38 Test matches. She has also been impressive in one-day internationals, scoring over 2,500 runs and taking over 100 wickets in 85 matches.
However, Perry admits that she still has room for improvement in the shortest format of the game, Twenty20. She has scored over 1,000 runs and taken over 50 wickets in 77 T20 matches, but she believes she can do even better.
“T20 is a very different game from Test cricket and one-day internationals,” Perry said. “It’s all about power hitting and making big scores in a short amount of time. I’m still learning and trying to adapt my game to be more effective in this format.”
Perry and the Australian team are currently preparing for the 2022 Women’s T20 World Cup, which will be held in South Africa. They are one of the favorites to win the tournament and Perry will be crucial to their chances of success.
“I’m really looking forward to the T20 World Cup and the opportunity to compete against the best teams in the world,” Perry said. “We have a strong squad and I believe we can go all the way. I’m determined to keep improving and help us win the trophy.”
